According to the Employee Relocation Council’s 2007 Family Issues Research Report, employee/family resistance to the move was the most significant reason for reluctance to relocate, with 67% of transferees noting this as a concern. Other concerns included high housing costs (59%), cost-of-living issues (55%), and the reluctance of a working spouse to leave his/her job (33%).
