DomesticMobility

When it comes to relocation, your employees and their families likely have a long list of concerns and questions. How quickly will my spouse find a job once we move? Will we be able to find a comparable school for my 10-year-old? What about my elderly parents… should we move them, too?

Vandover’s DomesticMobility programs overcome reluctance to relocate and increase employee and family satisfaction in the new location. No two relocations and no two program participants are alike. Vandover works with each individual to customize a program to position the employee and family for success. No off-the-shelf product or online tool offers the same level of customization or success.

Our services begin with a Complimentary Needs Assessment, an open-ended, relationship-building conversation aimed at uncovering the appropriate services for the individual. Program participants only receive the benefit components that meet their needs and objectives. A consultant then recommends a customized program based on identified needs and the benefit levels set by the sponsoring corporate client. Options may include the following.

  • Pre-Decision Assistance includes in-depth consultant support and research to address key concerns and position participants to make an informed decision regarding a potential relocation.
  • Relocating to a new area can cause some dramatic changes in lifestyle, but Vandover’s Lifestyle Resource Assistance program can help maintain lifestyle continuity in relocation. Detailed research on any number of topics assists in establishing connections and locating resources in the new community.
  • For the job-seeking participant, Résumé and Cover Letter Creation provides an expert résumé or curriculum vitae and custom cover letters with additional templates for letters tailored to specific situations. Ongoing consultant support and guidance on making the most of written job search materials is provided.
  • Custom Research assistance goes beyond the basics. In addition to providing pre-researched resources, Vandover’s research team delivers customized career research to support virtually any job-search related question. Combined with personalized consultant support, custom research builds a foundation for a successful job search.
  • Networking remains one of the best ways to tap into the hidden job market, and Vandover’s Network Development program guides participants through key steps to developing their network. Beginning with a custom NetStart™ to identify top employers, hiring managers, and industry insiders willing to serve as networking contacts for the job seeker, the consultant provides ongoing support to answer networking questions and offer tips along the way.
  • The Interviewing and Negotiating program includes Favorable and Lasting Impressions, an audio CD with accompanying workbook that serves to teach – or simply refresh – effective interviewing and negotiation skills. The participant works one-on-one with a consultant to further develop interview and career communication skills.
  • For those considering a career change, Transition Assistance provides assessment tools and consultant guidance in completing the right assessments. The consultant coaches the participant through the results and establishes steps for moving forward.
  • Entrepreneur Assistance is designed for individuals who may be seeking to begin or transition a small business. Hallmarks of this program include business card, flier, postcard, and brochure creation support, startup coaching, and competitive research.
